Festival Guidelines
The Hamburg Film Festival has strict guidelines young filmmakers must follow. Films must be submitted in DVD format to Sarah Reynolds, c/o The Sun, 141 Buffalo St., Hamburg, NY 14075. Films must be no shorter than five minutes and no longer then ten minutes. Anything beyond that will not be accepted. Creativity is left up to the film maker whether they choose live action or animation.Contact information such as your name, address and school must be attached with the film. Students must have access to their own equipment during the film making process. The content must be suitable for children! Keep that in mind, which mean watch your language! Students must have signed consent forms from anyone who appears in their films.Films will be subject to review and selection. Once reviewing is complete, the filmmakers will be notified on whether or not their films will be showing. The committee is also not responsible for providing equipment or any films lost in the mail.
Any films submitted beyond or received after Monday, June 28, 2010 will not be admitted into the film festival. If you can not get it mailed in on time personally deliver it to Sarah Reynolds at the Hamburg Sun office located on Buffalo St. in the Village of Hamburg.
After the screening of the films there will be ballots passed out amongst the audience members for the "People's Choice Award." After a brief intermission the judges will count the votes and there will be an award ceremony which will include: Best Film, Best Concept, Best Script, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Directing and of course the People's Choice Award.
