Today is the deadline for film submissions. Films must be submitted in DVD format at the Hamburg Palace Theatre, between the hours of 6:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. only! Films can also be mailed to the theatre located at 31 Buffalo St., Hamburg, NY 14075. Film deadline looms 06/07/2011
While we've been busy preparing for the event, I wanted to take some time and remind high school and college students that the deadline for film submissions is fast approaching!!! The deadline will be Monday, June 27 in the evening hours. Films must be submitted in DVD format at the Hamburg Palace Theatre, between the hours of 6:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. only! Films can also be mailed to the theatre located at 31 Buffalo St., Hamburg, NY 14075. Be sure to mark Attn: Hamburg Palace Theatre on your envelopes. Films must be no shorter than five minutes and no longer then ten minutes. Anything beyond that will not be accepted. Creativity is left up to the film maker whether they choose live action or animation. Contact information such as your name, address and school must be attached with the film. Students must have access to their own equipment during the film making process. The content must be suitable for children! Good luck in your final stretch in the film making process! With the official poster designed the 3rd annual Hamburg Film Festival is ready to go! There will be a slight change this year though. Instead of submitting films at The Sun office, films will need to be submitted at the Hamburg Palace Theatre between the hours of 6:30 and 10:30 p.m., at 31 Buffalo St., Hamburg, NY. At the conclusion of the films audience members turn in their selections to the judge to count the winners. This years celebritiy judge was Hilbert College professor Chris Gallant. He recently won his second Emmy for his documentary, "Niagara Falls: A Tale of Two Cities." Be sure to check out this weeks edition of The Sun. The Hamburg Film Festival was officially kick started with announcing that the festival will return again during Hamburg' Hamburg native Adam Steigert will be giving a presentation to the Angola Village Board on Monday (March 8) night in hope to receive a film permit that could shut down the main drag of the village for a film he is working on. "This is going to be bigger than any other production we've ever done," said Steigert in a brief interview on Wednesday afternoon. He is currently working on a film called, "The Final Day and Night." During last year's Hamburg Film Festival Steigert gave a sneak peek of his film, "Bitez" to high school and college students. The film premiered on October 9, 2009 at The Palace Theatre. He also started his own production company, "Deftone Picture Studios." His film "Bitez" also received recognition from Lions Gate film company.
